CVS is *only* for developers or folks who are willing to live on the
bleeding edge.
Packages are a *must* for any end user releases (whether major, mnoir or
a bug fix release).

IMHO you created just too many of them. Feel free to start a new thread
for disussing a new packaging strategy.
