[Typo3-dev] Extend Indexed Search Howto for Dummies please

Hey Mathias, I've been working with the Indexed Search a lot lately to
customize it for my site.  What function are you trying to change?

I nead to change one function and have no idea how to do this. Currently
typo is complaining because the IS hasn't been instantiated yet. Help a dump
dev ;-)
