Hi

Well - I still think that an built in editor should be available! - but preferably an editor that creates/edits *.sxw files - sort off reads from them and writes to them instead of storing contents of textfields in the database, the database should store path to the generated sxw or office file instead

this way you have both options -

1. only to work via web and built in editor with the files (good thing if OO isn´t installed on your current client

2. work with the sxw file from form by button to OO, which saves back to sxw file and updates built in rte

3 work directly with sxw files via ftp

this way you would have three ways of working with your contents

HOWEVER - this is not even the most important reason

THE COOL THING WITH SXW FILES IS THAT IT STORES PICTURES, METADATA WITHIN THE SXW FILE - so no more uploading of pictures! - insert them where you want them, and theyll be stored right there in the sxw file

+ A BONUS: The reason while so many RTE´s are simple still is security. RTE´s are a MAJOR securtiy risk, since you can hide all sorts of scripting in them. especially SQL-injects a.s.o. are dangerous. If the RTE however stored all its contents in sxw files, a lot of these security-issues would be eliminated, since everything is zipped up nicely in the sxw and can only do harm on client (not even sure it can do that)
