[Typo3-dev] CODE field in Plugin missing

The CODE field should not be used anymore. You should use an additional
field (type selector box) in tt_content via "Extend existing tables"
instead. This way the user who adds the plugin to the page can select from
predefined values and doesn't need to know what to type into the CODE field.
