It still doesn't work for me, but maybe it will be usefull for somebody else.
I've applied the patch in the t3lib_div function as suggested, but tt_news plugin still renders no page content, no records and no errors.

I'm thinking to ask the provider to switch ~ again :-( ~ the site to a php4 hosting server ... or to develop an extention myself not such complex as tt_news and which will deserve well my needs. But the bugs being related to typo3 core, I might very well get in trouble again...

What do you think?
