[TYPO3-debian] Segmentation fault beim editieren von tt_news

It think I have a problem similar to yours. 
This is the configuration:
   Typo3 4.0.2
   PHP 5.2.0
   Apache 1.3.37
   tt_news 2.4.0

Behavior:
   When I load the page with the tt_news plugin installed the output of the plugin is empty. I've tried to print something right in the init function of the tt_news but nothing is displayed. It seems that it doesn't even enter in the plugin's main functions.
   Unfortunatly I can't check the logs of apache. I'm hosting the site on a shared server. Not long ago I've switched the servers from Apache 2.x, PHP 4.4 to the mentioned above. On the previous server it worked perfectly.
   I also tried to install/reinstall the extention several times, but without any luck. 
   Do you have any ideea? What was the behaviour of your pages where the plugin was installed?
   Any hint is very appreciated.
