Hi Christian,
> The thread ist named "[TYPO3] Don't migrate to PHP 5.2.0".
Found it and I think this is exactly what's happening to us.

The above one is concerning typo3 and php v5.2.0 and that's what's happening
to us as well:
If we try to upgrade we get:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 3406984 bytes) in
/var/lib/typo3/typo3_src-4.0/typo3/mod/tools/em/class.em_xmlhandler.php on
line 141
You can put whatever mermory size in php.ini you like and it won't help.
Can you tell this being a bug of typo3 or is it a bug of the apache2 /
php5.2.0 combination and therefore by php v5.2.0? What do you think will
happen? Will this be solved in php v5.2.x or should some source code be
changed to make it work again?
Regards
Jordan
