[TYPO3-debian] Trials of installations

I followed the gz-installation procedure under typo3.org. Obviously this 
installation procedure does not comply with the files I downloaded...

- i dowloaded a dummy*.tgz file and a typo-3_src*.tgz
- I un_tar_ed them to my document root, that is /opt/lampp/htdocs
- Error 1: from the installation procedure described I expected the 
folder apps. This was not available in my distribution.
- Error 2: I expected to un_tar directly the symbolic links. But they 
weren't available, too. Obviously I have to create them like
   ln -s t3lib typo3
   ln -s etc
  obviously I do not understand the source destination direction in the 
installation FAQ

typo3/t3lib/ -> t3lib/

typo3/gfx/ -> typo3/t3lib/gfx/

typo3/thumbs.php -> t3lib/thumbs.php

tslib/ -> typo3/sysext/cms/tslib/
Has anybody got a Sheelscript to create the symbolic links?

- Error 3:
  I have got a dummy package and a typo3 package. I am 
  to extract them or link them into the same directory in my 
  document root. If I do so, in my document root will be 1 folder typo3 with a dummy 
  subfolger and a dummy subfolder. Is this really the intention?
