[Typo3-debian] Version recommended for Debian woody 3.0

Hi together!

I'm installing a new typo3-package on debian woody 3.0. Is it 
recommended to change to typo3.7 after installing the 
typo3-site-installer package or should i take version 3.6.2. 1

BTW:
What is the best way to backup the typo3-system and the mysql-database 
to a partition on a Windows2003-Server in the network?
