Useless and therefore stupid answer. Maybe you should post only when you
*are* in a good mood. Please be polite and don`t accuse just in your first
sentence without detailled knowledge, what *really* has been tried here.

I know, some mintues after i mailed the list i changed it to 96dpi. But as i
wrote, the size wasn`t and isn`t the real problem.

Did all that. BELIEVE ME *before* accusing me, please. Tried all possible
combinations - nothing changed. However, i even uninstalled IM 5.5
completely on debian. The *only* IM since yesterday (and only one found by
typo3) is *your* 4.2.9.

If it`s true that *your* 4.2.9 is working *absolutely fabulous*, then we can
go on and search for the problem at gd2-side, right? Even more if *all test*
run fine, *except* the shadow one in gd2-library-functions-tests. However,
in my typo3-testsite i *still* get the same pictures.

So i tested: gd2-xpm debian package versions 2.0.15-1, 2.0.20-1, 2.0.22-1.0
and official latest 2.0.23-2. I tested the options for IM5, although 4.2.9
installed. I tried each option, i tried them mixed and i tried them
together.

Dear Michael, i even looked in the typo3-source, copied php-source for the
gd-library-test and made my own php-only-gd2-tests, which failed as well.

I cleared and re-installed packages. Updated all dependencies of the
libgd2-xpm.

So i feel, like i tried a lot, altogether it took me several hours. I will
even try more. In some ours - after sleep - i will try to compile a fitting
package on my own. Maybe i will not succeed, at least i do try.

Well, dear Michael, i am sure that accusing posts are no helping answers at
all. To be honest, i expected more from a typo3-guru like you.

See, if it works fine for *you* on *your* system - thats great. However, it
does not work at least on my Debian Sarge (testing,i386). I can live without
typo3 and for you it surely might be uninteresting at all whether it works
for me or not - but *maybe* you are at least interested to find out, whether
this could hit every debian sarge i386 user with latest packages installed.

If you think, that it`s only me, doing nothing or all wrong, let's find out:

You are always invited to login to the server and check yourself. I would be
*very happy* if it`s just was my dumb mistake..

I would really appreciate to mail you typo3-admin and, if needed, debian
root, with pgp!

best regards

Alexander
