[Typo3-debian] GD and ImageMagick Packages for Debian and the "LZW" problem

First of all, thank you both for your fast and kind answers!
 
 
I read them both already yesterday.
 
Let me please ask one more question: I could stay with png, it provides up
to 24bit colours and better (real alpha) transparency. However "bad guys os'
browsers" will only let transparency work with added scripting (at least in
sites i created..). And png still does not support animations, right?
 
But i guess,  i`ll wait some days, until some nice debian gurus provide a
complete package - i knew about the expiration of the related european and
us (but no japan) ip-rights. Or will i have to wait forever? We`ll see...if
a week passes, i guess, i will stick to Sven`s great compilation advice. :-)
