wrong!
e.g. if you use 2.6 kernel, you need newer modutils than provided with 
woody. this case breaks dependencies.

don't mix distributions! better use kernel backports from
http://www.backports.org
search for kernel and pick one of your choice >= 2.4.25
docs should be on the backports site.

of course, you can use any other backport available, e.g. at 
http://www.apt-get.org
but imho norbert of backports.org provides best choice :)
