[Typo3-debian] How does the new packages work?

How does the new debian packages cope with multiple typo3 installations
sharing the same source?

Can "apt-get install typo3-site-installer" be run several times? (I
understand that it's a installation script)

Might be a stupid question, but I haven't tried the packages yet. I'll get
my debian server sometime next week. So better be prepared than not :)
