interesting to ask this at the T3-Berlin-Usergroup ;) but:

No, GIFs only can have maximal one 100% transparent (background-)colour.
No multiple colours, no gradual transparency.

You only can rasterize the transparent colour with an other (not transparent) colour, so that one pixel is transparent then and the other not.
